Beta-Elemene is a constituent that occurs in citrus fruit as well as in 50 plants and herbs. It is mainly extracted from Curcuma Wenyujin (root of Ginger). The traditional process, which isolates Beta-Elemene currently, is very labor intensive and besides that needs a lot of processing. The original product is harvest-dependent and therefore not consistent in quality.
Isobionics offers the market the opportunity to develop more and new applications. Opportunities are in the food, beverage and flavor and fragrance industry. Furthermore Beta-Elemene is well known in the pharmaceutical industry.
